Brother HL 6050
I have been using Brother HL-6050 for three months. This has given me enough experience to say that I definitely made the right decision when I bought it. I run a small company dealing in advertising materials and we are basically attached to a major advertising firm and act as their back office.
We needed something that could cope with the plentiful “rush jobs” but could also be happy doing the day-to-day stuff. The Brother HL-6050 is a LaserJet printer with an output of up to 25 pages per minute. It has the standard 1,200 x 1,200 dpi resolution and offers crisp printing that is consistent throughout the day.
It also has an automatic duplexer which has made things easier for us when tasked with printing tri-fold brochures and other materials. I used to have a hard time in printing on both sides and had to do it manually. Thankfully those days are over!
The standard paper capacity is of 600 sheets and the multi-purpose tray can hold a further 250 sheets with capacity being expandable to 1,100 sheets in total. The standard printer interface offers connections 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet, Parallel and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connections. Which covers just about every eventuality I can think of.
Installation was easy and I didn’t face any problems or glitches with the setup. It was a smooth process as I followed the step-by-step guidelines given in the instructional manual. My Windows Vista computer is working fine with the Brother HL-6050 and there are no disconnections or other technical issues that plague other printer manufacturers.
Printing is easy with Brother HL-6050 as it offers a 3-color LCD display with a complete menu. The printer offers a 32 MB standard memory and 200 MHz internal processor. There is an additional slot for up to 128 MB of memory. Toner saver mode is available and is a great addition for economy users like me.
Standard advertising materials do not require an elaborate colored printing, especially during the initial stages and Brother HL-6050 is ideal for these preliminary rounds. Power consumption was previously an issue but I have not found any problems with the Brother HL-6050. It consumes around 600 Watts during standard operation and 8 Watts during sleep mode. Compact Flash compatibility is available to feed photos directly from digital cameras and this feature is good for our business when we are in the process of contemplating outlooks of advertisement flyers and pamphlets.
The Brother HL-6050 comes with CD-Rom, drum unit with toner cartridge, user manuals and setup guides. I will strongly recommend Brother HL-6050 to small businesses and advertisement agencies given its stellar performance and high print quality.

Pros
The Brother MFC-7360N is a lot of machine packed into a little space. It is extremely versatile and can not only print but also copy, scan, and fax your important documents. When it comes to printing, the 7360N is one of the fastest printers on the market. At a rate of 24 pages per minute, you will find it hard to keep up. Not only can it print quickly but it can also act as a photocopying machine with copy speeds of up to 24 copies per minute. In addition to copying, the MFC7360 also acts as a fax machine, with the ability to fax a page ever seven seconds. The nice feature on this fax machine is its automatic number-redial function, which can automatically redial a busy number so you don’t have to. Lastly, this device from Brother can scan documents in both color and in black and white. Here is one area in which you can use both color and black and white. With a maximum resolution of 600 x 2400 dots per inch, the quality of your scanned documents is quite good. Last but not least, the 7360N comes with an easy plug and play setup that will have you up and running in no time. If simplicity and versatility are what you need then this printer will suit you well.Cons
The Brother MFC-7360N is not perfect and has its faults. For one, it only prints, copies, and faxes in black and white. For a comparable price you can find other devices able to do all three in color as well. In addition to this, the 7360N has no duplex printing, even as an upgrade option. What this means is that you can only print on one side of a sheet of paper. If you are trying to save trees and money by printing on both sides then this is not the printer for you. Also, this machine has been described as being very noisy, with a constant loud hum emanating from it while it is turned on. For this reason you may find this printer distracting you if you like to work in complete silence.Brother MFC 8870DW
Who wants to clog their workspace at the office with different machines for different routine tasks? Everyone prefers to buy one machine that they can do all the copying, printing, faxing and scanning they require. The Brother MFC-8870 DW laser printer allows the user to do just that. No more need to worry about spending too much, as this five in one wireless machine enables you to print, scan copy and fax everything without taking up too much space.
The Brother MFC-8870 DW multi-task machine is easy to use and does not require you to make a lot of adjustments for different styles of printing and scanning. The printer functions in duplex mode allow the user to produce two-sided prints without having to adjust the papers manually. In fact, the ease with which different-styled documents can be produced is something I see as a stand-out feature of the MFC-8870DW.
The machine allows the user to produce two-sided prints, saving paper costs. It enables you to scan a large multi-page and compress it so that it covers half a page when printed. This is just the tip of the iceberg, as there is a long list of different styles in which you can print and scan documents without a lot of effort as the machine makes all the adjustments automatically. I find this is as the most convenient feature of the Brother MFC-8870DW.
The machine is good enough for all textures of paper including transparencies, envelopes, etc. The Brother MFC-8870 DW laser printer efficiently serves the purpose of a normal fax machine. You do not need to attach it with a computer and it allows dual access with 340 locations. The machine can store about 600 pages for Quick Scan faxes. It gives a resolution of 9600 dpi for color scanning. It’s not very difficult to operate and works well with most operating systems. The toner cartridge lasts for up to 3500 pages.
The MFC-8870DW allows me to strictly control the usage in my office. The functioning of the machine can be administered on a network of workstations with the administrator limiting the tasks each of the subordinates can perform on the printer.
Print quality is where a printer stands and falls, and this is just like the others in the Brother stable, excellent. Print quality is so good that you would think this would cost a lot more than it does, and that it’s certainly not a multifunction.
Overall this device is a strong performer that can hold its own against the competition, and other Brother devices.
